We’re thrilled to share details about one of our recent favourite projects—a spectacular barndominium overlooking the scenic beauty of Blue Mountain. This unique personal rec centre blends modern comfort with functional design, resulting in a breathtaking space perfect for relaxation and recreation.
Project Overview:
In collaboration with Barndo Canada and SteelBuilt Corp, we provided and installed premium overhead doors and Liftmaster openers for this one-of-a-kind build. Our portion of the project was efficiently completed within a single day, demonstrating our commitment to professional service and precision craftsmanship.
Location & Design: Situated atop a hillside, the building offers panoramic views of the sparkling lake and the charming village of Blue Mountain below. With such picturesque surroundings, every design choice was intentional—including our garage door installations, chosen specifically to complement the building’s contemporary aesthetic and natural setting.
Garage Door Selection: For this heated indoor recreational facility, the client selected Clopay 3728 insulated garage doors with an impressive R18.4 insulation rating. These doors ensure optimal thermal efficiency, essential for maintaining comfortable temperatures year-round. The sleek flush black finish paired beautifully with the charcoal exterior of the building, echoing the tones of the roof and trim features. Frosted thermal windows enhanced the modern appeal while providing privacy and allowing diffused natural light to enter.
Each door was equipped with Liftmaster 98022 side-mounted openers, chosen for their reliability, quiet operation, and space-saving design.
Our Process: Our team began by backframing each opening, preparing them meticulously to support the doors and hardware. Once the frames were ready, we assembled and installed the doors, carefully setting up the counterbalance system for flawless operation. The Liftmaster openers were then fitted, providing the final touch of seamless functionality.
