We’re Hiring: Part-Time Shop & Operations Assistant
Rockwood Garage Doors is growing, and we’re looking for the right person to grow with us.
We are currently hiring a Part-Time Shop & Operations Assistant to support our shop, field team, and day-to-day operations at our Milton location.
This is a three-day-per-week position, working either Tuesday to Thursday or Wednesday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
This is not a job where every day looks exactly the same.
Some days may involve receiving and organizing deliveries, staging materials for upcoming jobs, or helping keep our warehouse and vehicles organized. Other days could include cutting up old garage door sections for disposal, doing minor repairs, painting, assembling shelving, loading trucks, or helping one of our technicians with a practical task around the shop.
From time to time, the role may also include picking up or delivering parts using one of our service vans or pickup trucks.
We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and is the kind of person who looks at something and thinks, “I can figure that out.”
The Right Person Matters More Than the Perfect Résumé
We are not looking for someone with a specific job title or background.
Experience in construction, warehouse work, shipping and receiving, property maintenance, automotive, general labour, or the trades would certainly be helpful, but it is not required.

A Hands-On Role
This position is ideal for someone who is reasonably handy and enjoys practical work.
Typical tasks may include:
- Receiving and organizing supplier deliveries
- Checking incoming materials against orders
- Staging garage doors, operators, hardware, and parts for upcoming jobs
- Loading and unloading company vehicles
- Keeping the warehouse and shop organized
- Monitoring basic inventory
- Using drills, impact drivers, saws, grinders, and other common tools
- Cutting up old doors and materials for disposal
- Completing minor repairs and maintenance around the building
- Painting and touch-up work
- Assembling shelving or shop fixtures
- Cleaning work areas, bathrooms, and common spaces
- Keeping company vehicles clean and organized
- Occasionally helping technicians with shop or field work
- Picking up or delivering parts when required
Driving is only a small part of the role, but it is important when needed. Applicants must have a valid Ontario driver’s licence, a good driving record, and be comfortable driving a pickup truck or service van.

Schedule
This is a consistent three-day-per-week position.
Option 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Option 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Pay
$18-23 based on experience and capability
